Dr. Clifford Williams, Assistant Principal
Dr. Clifford Williams is a dedicated educator and accomplished school administrator with a passion for implementing restorative practices in educational settings. Armed with a summa cum laude degree from St. Augustine's College and a Doctor of Education from Rider University, he has seamlessly blended his academic prowess with hands-on experience to create positive change in schools.
Dr. Williams began his journey as a middle school instructor and quickly transitioned into an educational technology Teacher at Trenton Central High School. His innovative approach included launching online classes for at-risk students and spearheading a bridge program for 11th graders. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he was named "Administrator of the County" in 2015.
Currently serving Lawrence High School as Principal on Special Assignment focusing on School Safety, Dr. Williams plays a crucial role in upholding the district's Emergency Plan and fostering strong relationships with law enforcement agencies. He actively engages with professional and community organizations, channeling his expertise to advocate for safe, equitable, and high-quality educational experiences.
In his restorative practice work, Dr. Williams has been at the forefront of initiatives to promote a positive school environment. He collaborated with the school's specialized behavioral program to introduce restorative practices, becoming a certified trainer through the IIRP in the process. His commitment to empowering others is evident in his training of teams to implement restorative methods in classrooms effectively.
Dr. Williams' influence extends beyond the school walls, as demonstrated by his dissertation focusing on incorporating restorative practices into specialized behavioral programs. He has partnered with the Mercer County prosecutor's office to introduce student-led restorative justice peer mediation programs in Lawrence High School, Lawrence Middle School, and Lawrence Intermediate School, further cementing his dedication to fostering a culture of understanding and accountability within the educational community.
