Mr. Anthony Ammirata, Director of Athletics
A 1987 graduate of Lawrence High School, Mr. Ammirata has twenty-four years of progressive teaching experience; the last twenty at LHS where he taught AP Micro/Macro Economics and U.S. History. In addition to his teaching career, Mr. Ammirata ends a coaching career that spanned the course of three decades. His involvement with Lawrence High School’s football program began in 1992 and was part of a coaching staff that lead the Cardinals to an appearance in the 2013 state championship game. His love for coaching student-athletes compelled him to take over a young Cardinal Lacrosse program, where he served as head coach of the boys’ team from 2005 through 2015. Mr. Ammirata continues to mentor young student-athletes as he assumes his new role.
Mr. Ammirata earned his undergraduate degree in History and Political Science from Rutgers University and a second undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from New Jersey City University. Later, he achieved his graduate degree in Educational leadership from The University of Scranton.
Once a student, teacher and coach at LHS, Mr. Ammirata now occupies the Director of Athletics role in the district. He is overly excited to accept his new position and is eager to provide continual support to the fine coaches and student-athletes of Lawrence High School.
